For discussion of Picture Quality and bitrate issues with the BBC HD channel.

The BBC HD channel used to be 20 mbit/sec, then it was 16 mbit, and since the new encoders have been added it is now only about 9.7 mbit/sec. The picture quality since the bitrate reduction has now decreased dramatically, there are also other problems with the encoders that the BBC have admitted to, particularly on fades and disolves.
